Allison Newsome is a talented multi-media artist based in Warren, Rhode Island, working in sculpture (clay, ceramic and bronze), drawing and painting.
Allison’s RainKeep sculpture installations can be found all over the world. Each large RainKeep has its own name, derived from the story of its purpose, the science behind its meaning, or materials used. Placed in public spaces such as community gardens and town squares, these standalone RainKeeps each feature a large recycled aluminum tank that can harvest up to 3,000 gallons of rainwater. Visitors are enchanted by its beauty and story of environmental resilience.
Allison was honored to receive a commission for the Florida Botanical Gardens RainKeep ‘Botanica’ and to collaborate with Coyle and Caron Landscape Architects. ‘Botanica’ is currently on display in the Majeed Discovery Garden.
