Support the Foundation

The Florida Botanical Gardens is a place of beauty, learning, and connection for our entire community. When you give to the not-for-profit Florida Botanical Gardens Foundation, Inc., you help care for the living plant collections, expand educational programs, and make welcoming events possible for thousands of visitors each year. Your support is more than a donation; it is a way to nurture something meaningful, preserve a natural oasis in Pinellas County, and ensure the Gardens continue to inspire future generations.

Where Your Gift Goes

Every contribution to the Florida Botanical Gardens Foundation directly supports the care, restoration, and future growth of the Gardens. Donations help sustain both the beauty visitors experience today and the improvements that will serve our community for generations to come.
Your support helps make possible:
• Restoration of the Gardens’ signature water features, including rebuilding the waterfall and stream
• Critical infrastructure improvements, such as modernizing the irrigation system
• Removal of invasive plant species and restoration of plant collections to reflect the Gardens’ original vision
• Ongoing support of the Majeed Discovery Garden, providing hands-on learning and exploration for children and families
• Support for children’s environmental education, including funding the constuction of a proper restroom for the children
Because of support from members like you, the Gardens remain a welcoming resource — a peaceful place where nature, education, and community come together every day.

John Thomas Memorial Intern Fund

John Thomas was President of the Board from 2020 until his untimely death November 29, 2025.  Under his leadership, the Foundation raised over $3 million to build the Majeed Discovery Garden, a one-of-kind children's garden designed to bring wonder and joy to kids of all ages.  John established an Intern Fund so that the Foundation could provide opportunities to students looking to pursue careers in environmental work. John referred to this as helping young people become "Stewards of the Land.'

You can continue his efforts by donating to the John Thomas Intern Fund
